Nah, I'm just joking. There are a lot of contests that don't mind older videos but a lot of times it's just the creator's call to not submit old stuff.

you are absolutely right in this, in our case i look at trolling as a video that has too much unedited clips that last for more than 10-30 seconds that are dropped in to fill gaps on the hopes it will blend well.dwchang wrote: Everyone has their own standards as to what is "enough" (it could be as little as one convention of award or as many as whatever) and unfortunately, I have reached mine with the videos I would've liked to have submitted.
Ya, I agree.... I could dust off some of my 1-2 year old videos and submit it to try to get a nice prize, but It's no fun to the audience seeing a videos they got sitting at home on their laptops or they’ve seen at X contests... I'm sure there will be some several seeing how high the stakes are here.... No matter the prize, I just can't do that....greenjinjo wrote:Aye, but awards have never been 42" Plasma Screen Monitors

I only wish there was more prep time for something like this since there is no hope in having my new project even close to being done with Xmas almost here.

This may be a dumb question (I'm sorta new to the convention scene and all), but by that statement you make it seem as though OtakuCon moves from city to city every year, is that what I'm reading from that?ecamac01 wrote:that will not be the same after miami. we will be more stringent on the trolling factor.

oh no, its not a dumb question...since im still in the office and have this on my screen i might as well answer as many of them as possible. ^_^greenjinjo wrote:This may be a dumb question (I'm sorta new to the convention scene and all), but by that statement you make it seem as though OtakuCon moves from city to city every year, is that what I'm reading from that?ecamac01 wrote:that will not be the same after miami. we will be more stringent on the trolling factor.
if your registered to the event for the weekend, then you are registered. if you are not coming to the event and want to compete for a prize in the AMV event then you still need to register, since the AMV contest is Saturday the day pass price is $25. if you just want to submit a video for expo, which really is not on the site (too many expo videos entered already) then you can. I setup extra expo times in the event, but it wont be judged for prizes, and you do not need to register.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote: Excuse me but am I reading this right?
In order to enter a video into the convention, you have to have a registration INTO the convention, which for a one day pass is $25.
well if 500 people enter videos...our contest could run for 41 hours on the average video being 5 minutes, god help us if all 500 turned in 3 files...lolVoices_Of_Ryan wrote: So if 500 people enter videos, and 1 person wins a prize which is about 4 grand (maybe more? I think I saw one at walmart for about 3?).
Then you guys JUST ABOUT break even... right?
