That sounds like an excellent idea. But I think the required time could be lowered to 15 seconds since it usually takes me less than 30 seconds to preview even a really long post.

I'd have to agree with that for most of this. For me, even a 15 second wait time would annoy me to no end, as I find myself constantly previewing and revising what I write. It certainly doesn't take 15 seconds to look over what I wrote.Otohiko wrote:I'd just find that irritating.
And what was the actual goal of this?
If it's to help cut down on double posting, it'll probably help out a bit. But, if it's to cut down on spelling and grammar errors, it's not going to help at all. Forcing people who don't care to begin with or don't know how to spell/use grammer properly to preview what they wrote isn't going to change much.
This solution would at least help those who actually care about their mistakes and just hit the submit button by mistake.Zarxrax wrote:On the fark.com comments threads, they have a checkbox for preview, which is automatically selected when you make a post. This way it previews by default, but you can still turn off the preview if you want.

There is a MOD for that (no flood control for editing): LinkTsunami Jones wrote:I'd have to agree with that for most of this. And this MOD so that Admins and Mods don't have a flood limit: Link

I might be wrong, but wouldn't that just be for editing posts, and not previewing them?Lyrs wrote:There is a MOD for that (no flood control for editing): LinkTsunami Jones wrote:I'd have to agree with that for most of this.
