Video doesn't look same when I download it

I've successfully uploaded 2 videos to a-m-v.org but when I download the video, the video is choppy and it doesn't look right.

Am I doing something wrong? And if so what?

Hmmm....

I strongly doubt that the upload or download process is the cause..

when you did the final encode on your vids, did you watch them all the way through?
I would guess that maaaaybe somehow if you had a really bad connection you might get some small portion a bit messed up...but all signs here seem to be pointing to a bad encode...

alright, both mpg...perhaps if you gave a brief description of what you did in the last encoding process..or maybe even the beggining stages...or also, perhaps someone who doesn't have 56ghey will download the vids and tell you exactly what is wrong...perhaps

I have watched both videos all the way through in their entirity. Both are fine on the file I have that I uploaded, but the version I downloaded they don't seem right.

Is there something that a-m-v.org does maybe some sort of compression or something?

No. The video you downloaded should be bit-for-bit identical to the one you uploaded.

Use a file comparison tool to check.

I didn't run a bit comparison but the file size is the exact same size. I don't even have any software to do that.

It doesn't make much sense to me.

Find one to check --- sometimes files get corrupted in transfer due to, e.g., defective hardware.

It doesn't make much sense to me.

Try checksumming the files -- you can find checksum utilities all over the place. A good, freely available one (it's on every GNU/Linux system I've used, anyway) is md5sum.

On hash functions: CRC32 works in most cases. MD5 is better, but much slower. SHA1 is probably overkill for this purpose.
