TV Out from ATI A-I-W 8500 DV to Audiovox 5.6" LCD scre

Post by Kionon » Wed Nov 17, 2004 7:23 pm

Okay, I know this combination is weird. Here's my issue, I can force detection of tht "TV" (the LCD screen), and I can get mirror (without being able to watch video) and primary to the LCD screen (I can then watch video on the screen, but not my monitor). The two things I need to know are:

1). How do I get the video to show up on both monitor and screen?
2). How do I get the LCD screen to act as a dual monitor, since that's my real goal, so I can put video off to the LCD screen, where it doesn't interrupt my use of space on the monitor.

I'm using composite RCA cables. The screen has 8 prong SVHS, but the 8500 DV only has 4 prong SVHS.

I'm at a loss here, guys and gals. Can anyone help?

Part 1: Doesn't happen. Don't ask. I can't tell you why.

Part 2: Punch up your display properties then the settings tab. Tell me if you see multiple screens listed as 1 and 2 there.

I've tried setting a dual monitor configuration, but it reverts to a single on the other monitor (the TV) when I press apply. I have to go into Catalyst to reactivate the actual monitor, (Useing VNC) and I'm baffled as to how to do both. I told him to ask ATI for help.
