Japan Expo is being held November 27-28 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It's not an anime convention, but it is a definite must go see for anyone fascinated in Japanese culture. http://japanexpo.org/

I went last year. Sailor Moon Jamboree was there. Some cosplyers. A few anime merchandise booths.
