Post by killerkitty » Mon Nov 08, 2004 1:26 pm

I'm using dvd decrytor 3.5. ripped fast. now i got my vobs. I want sthe simplest programs to convert them to mpegs. I installed the Amv files, omg it installed so much junk all over took hours to get it off my comp. really i dont want a ton of programs. got a good ripper. now need fast and easy programs. what do you use after you ripped and have vob files?

First of all, don't bump threads after only 15 minutes.

Secondly, what I use after I've ripped the VOBs:
- DVD2AVI 1.76
- AVISynth 2.5.5
- The Adobe Premiere AVISynth import plugin

I downloaded them separately myself, but they're all included (different versions) in the AMVapp.

And doesn't the AMVapp offer an installation option that lets you install only the components you want?

if your planing on using divx files as source, you should get divx 5.2 and, with virtual dub, make a low quality avi of all the vob's. makse sure to name the clips the same as the vobs. then when you've finished editing, just delete the avi files and replace them with the original vob. Iether that, or just use vdub to encode to huffyuv (which takes loads more space) .

Oh and, people here have lives. We dont just sit on the net all day waiting for people to ask us questions :P

Is it faster to use Vegas or VDub to convert the VOBs ? I haven't tried VDub, but Vegas seemed pretty fast to me - just for simple conversion to AVI (no effects, filters, etc.).

Then it will rip pretty fast, since dremels spin in excess of 10,000 rpm.

lol yep, that's the intention

I've got a video of a guy who did that, put cdr's on a dremel and let them spin till they shattered and stuff.

was interesting to watch
