I think Euphoria is just too much. Like a friend of mine put it when he first saw the vid, it`s not an Anime Music Video with effects. It`s an Effect Music Video with a little bit of anime. I mean, is there ONE frame in the thing that has less than seven filters applied?

I think that in Euphoria`s case, the effects become the entire video and that kind of escapes the point of using good, clean footage like he did. It`s just a waste.

Yes. Quite a large portion of the video doesn't have any effects.

If videos using simple effects like Euphoria are considered "waste", then I supposed videos like Surfing on the Blocks, Silence, or every Seishiga MAD ever created are merely puddles of vomit in the bathroom floor.

Effects in Euphoria are easy. I always thought it was great and I still do. None of the effects were a distraction cause their amplitude isn't so high in order for you not to concentrate on anime.

It's really quite simple. Intimidation. Most of the people who dis videos like Euphoria are pissed cause they know they'll never learn how to make something like that. It's easier for them to just bitch and whine instead of research, practice and learn how to do it.

Euphoria is a great video. I thought it was awesome and still watch it on occasion

and dude I was suprised myself when I won best Drama(general) because its obviously not a drama/romance I remember filling out the form for AUSA and checking off the "I dunno you pick where it belongs" box and that was what they took out of it. So Of course, im not gonna complain about it. but I can see why that wouldn't make sense to some people.

i think part of the negativity against euphoria is due to the expectations that go into the video.
it being the top ranked video on the top 10%, star scale, opinions received, favorite videos.
maybe people go into the video assuming that it will be better than their favorite video, then become disappointed when it's not.

I can't speak for other people, but I've been in the circuit for less than a year. Plus, I have no idea how much or how little I'll know in one or two years, so I can hardly feel frustrated for seeing a vid that`s better than mine. 98% of the vids here probably ARE better than my vids. What I wrote up there is my personal opinion, as a guy who isn't so crazy for effects. No need to crucify me because I offended the great allmighty Euphoria. It`s just my opinion.

A video can look very nice without all those effects, there`s no prejudice involved.
