How do I "set" the size of my vid???

Post by taifunbrowser » Wed Oct 13, 2004 6:45 pm

Ive noticed that most of the more Professional AMV have a set "size" and when you "full screen" the vid, it remains small, and with good quality. My movies so far have reformed to the size of the media player, causing people who use the "full screen" option to view fuzziness. To avoid this problem, is there any way I can set a "maximum" size to my vid, so that there isnt any fuzziness if they Expand the window, but that you can also go to "skin mode" and make the video smaller. so, in other words, is there a way to set a maximum size for my vid, while still alowing it to get smaller?

:? well, i'm not much of a video guru but i think it has to do with the compression of the video...
i, personally, have my videos set to 720 x 480 as per the guides and i used the XviD codec for compression.
all i can say, is that...i'm still in the learnin' stages of making quality amv's so i guess i'm trying to contribute to see if it'll help :)

Sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't seen one video yet that doesn't take up the whole screen when I full-screen it.

Whether it looks good or not, of course, is dependent on the resolution and the quality of the encode.

Kevin Caldwells Caffeine enconium doesnt, it stays pretty small- and that gets REALLY fuzzy if you force it to get big (say 200% size) but, if you make the window bigger or smaller, it stays the same size (it gets smaller to fit in the window if you make it really small though

I think thats a good Idea, because then you dont get yelled at for having fuzzy videos from people who use full screen (which makes most movies fuzzy neway! lol)

Just having to disagree here, cause whenever I double-click on any video in Media Player (including Caffiene Encomuim) it goes to full screen. Might it be a setting in your video player? I know with Media Player, the video will stay it's original size with both settings unckecked under View menu, Video Size (Fit Video to Player on Resize, and Fit Player to Video on Start). Just a suggestion, this is what I use. I figure that when writing ops, it's only fair to judge quality based on the vids actual resolution. But I've never downloaded a video and not been able to view it full screen, reguardless of it's quality.

This is a setting in your video player, not in the video file.

if you right click on the vid, you can choose 50%, 100%, or 200%, but when I had it on 100%, it only took up 1/2 of the window.

no nono... yes, I know you can make it full scren- I'm talking just when the windows media player is at "maximized" size (the button next to the "x" to the top right of the media player), and I have it set to "resize video to size" and, it doesnt resize- it jsut stays that small- and then when I go to full screen, of course, its all fuzzy. lol

This has nothing to do with the video, it's your video player.
