right now rose needs from you:
1) a 288x288 png or bmp image that will represent your video in the end credits
2) a 288x288 real life photo of yourself, preferably a headshot. -but if you don't want your photo being passed around the internet, maybe we can use an alternative image, like an avatar or a "missing person" image.

Given the darker nature of much of the widescreen section I'm not sure it would be that far off. The sand and glass animation sounds really cool, you should put it on the FTP once it's done so we can take a look.rose4emily wrote:animating a solid black, white, and red depiction of Macbeth freaking out over the blood on his hands and how it'd turn the whole ocean red should he try to wash it out. Interesting, but hardly what this project needs. The one after that has to be done in either sand or wet paint being pushed around a glass pane, so I don't think that'd be any good either. Unfortunately, I don't have time to make a hand animation independent of those assignements without turning them into absolute crap.
Of course I haven't seen the segments so I don't really know what I'm talking about but something does not neccicarily have to be appropriate to be a good addition a lot of art can be very random at times. (Also it would be cool to put "original Animation" in the credits because that tends to piqe people interest. At least mine.)
I will begin uploading my video tomorrow morning. Finally.
EDIT: I finally saw the intermision. I understand the concept but I think it could use a little more text. Also I like the sugestion to cut out the bass and make it sound like elevator music, as far as music selection and drawing goes it's awesome.

Good luck connecting to the FTP, I can't seem to get in. It disconects while it's waiting for the welcome message.Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote:theres an intermison render up? *goes to look for it*
Since it looks like the final project will be ready before too long, I'm going to start working on a new banner for the release. I think it might be nice to have a bunch of new or modified banners so people know it's availible.

Sorry, it seems that my FTP crashed some point within the past couple of days. I was perplexed as to why I was having trouble getting into it from the CS lab, and now I know - the process was dead.
I restarted the FTP server process, so you should be able to get in now.
As to why it went down, your guess is as good as mine.

I'll upload my images shortly. I'm very mad at my camera because I spent a buch of time doing self portraits, many of which were when my hair was six inches longer, and my camera wiped the memory card for no reason.
As for the video I have to re-rip the DVD because my huffy got deleated somehow.
But I will have things finished soon, I promise.

I've uploaded the immages to the FTP but don't have the video ready yet.
I threw in some joke pictures but just to clarify the one I like best is the charcoal one, followed by the old picture one.
I also spent forever to add lightning to my rose nebula picture only to decide it looked better without it so the plain one is the one you should use.

Okay, so most of the pieces are now in - but I'm still short a video and a set of narratives.
I haven't had a chance to get anything done on my end since my last post - but I'll have the updated intermission (with new "dialogue") and, possibly, the short-form intro (I've decided it's best to keep its length down, rather than blowing it out into a full segment on its own) by the end of this weekend.
You don't want the Macbeth animation as the widescreen intro. I've spent way too much time on it, it's now horribly overdue, and it generally sucks. In short, I miscalculated the amount of detail I could get away with, and am now stuck with something that I can't finish with anywhere near the degree of care with which I started it. Beyond that, I also made the foolish decision of using a lot of terribly difficult shots with strange angles, rotating objects, and a subjective viewpoint - none of which are really practical given my limited experience with rapid drawing. I've also discovered that the super-high-contrast color pallate I've been working with has the nasty side effect of exaggerating motion - meaning that this really should all be shot on ones when I'm scarcely able to produce enough drawings to shoot it on twos. Leave it to me to always go in over my head.
In the interest of actually getting this project done, I think we had better forget about having a widescreen intro at all. At the moment, I can't even figure out how I'm going to get the end credits and narrative video done in a timely fashion, nevermind adding anything else to my plate.

Sorry about my once again dropping the ball and raining on your parade. I've finally lost all resistance to the academic burnout that has been setting in on me since 11th grade, and have been falling behind in my classes. So I hope you understand when I say I need to devote everything I have to recovering my grades as best as I can before then end of the quarter. I'm looking to the next quarter as the test of whether I should, in my right mind, try to continue in my current track of studies - so I'm putting a lot of pressure on myslelf now to snap out it and catch up with the curriculum so I can make a strong start when the next ten weeks roll around.

I'm a fairly patient person, so I have no problem with how long it will take to finish this project and/or what gets omitted. I'm also a person who demands that I get good grades, so I'm all for you getting your schoolwork done. Actually, I've been slacking on my college work so far
. I guess I need to get back to work too. Just remember, "All work and no play makes *insert name* a dull boy." ^_^
