I think people are confusing ethics with the rules of the org... The point is the rules say the org does not support websites with DVD rips. As AD put it quite simply..

Just as a footnote, comparing an AMV to a Rip of the full DVD is not the same thing. AMVs use clips from the DVD and do not contain the full video.. Full DVD rips do, and hence it gives people an easy outlet to download material so that they do not have to bother buying, renting or ripping it... Simply put, it makes it easier to pirate, thus the the rule reflects not supporting that.. plain and simple...

If you make a profit off an AMV, ain't that illegal? I know an editor who makes DVD's of his AMV's and sells em. :?

They won't delete videos just because they're "old" or have nonworking links. This site is a catalogue for all videos ever made, not just ones currently downloadable.

It's your responsibility to remove the links from the listings.

You can still remove the links, though.

Actually when you originally asked for us to remove them we told you to do it yourself.

If you don't charge much more than the cost of the DVDs, then I don't see a problem. But if you make a profit, then yeah, something's wrong.

No, it's always been your responsibility for keeping your links up to date or deleting them if they aren't.
