Eek! Where do I download anime videos so I can make my AMV!

@@; My friend keeps giving me the URL to AMV guides whenever I ask her where I get the anime for my AMV. Well I searched EVERY stinking guide and there's nothing that says where you can get animes for AMVs!! Help!
