  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

New UNIQUE AMV =)

Post by serebi » Sun Oct 10, 2004 10:36 pm

When I say unique I mean it uses footage that wasn't in the database and/or uses a song that wasn't in the database b4 this release

and so it is, again I have used something nobody on a-m-v.org has used (thus making it irrelevent bkuz i consider this to be the master database, a-m-v.org 0wnz)

"Stained Glass Curse"

please view and tell me your opinions ^_^

I'm downloading this right now, because I know a song by the group Lesiëm that's called "Fundamentum", and I want to see if they're the same.

i looked that up since u said that.. with the search string

++"e nomine" fundamentum
(operator ++ says to always include what is inside the "" which keeps the substring together)

i get many results, but i do notice some of them have lesiem in it so then i used

++"e nomine" fundamentum -lesiem
(operator - means to subtract word(s) out of results and not include those results)

I got MANY less results with that, so then i switched the string around to:

++lesiem fundamentum -"e nomine"

and i got many MORE results thans any of the other strings. Perhaps this is a kazaa naming error gone haywire but many people have this song and praise it as an E Nomine hit. If this song is actually by lesiem then i definitely want to hear more of lesiem's stuff! heh, but I need facts, I cannot tell by just using google.com

Just like how many people have Ome Henk's "Neem Een Ander In De Maling" and praise it as Rammstein doing "Barbie Girl" in German. :P
(It's actually a <i>parody</i> of "Barbie Girl", and it's in <i>Dutch</I>.)
Or like how many people attribute Modern English's "I'll Stop the World" to The Cure.
Or like how I've seen hide's "Flame" attributed to the pillows [lack of capitalization intentional in both cases].
And many more similar examples.

Just goes to show that you can never trust file sharing utilities when it comes to song and artist names.

That's why amazon.com is your friend. :)
Here's the page for Lesiëm's album <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... ><i>Mystic Spirit Voices</i></a>, which lists "Fundamentum" as track 3. I personally think it's a great song, even if it's rather lacking in the melody department and I have no idea what the words mean.

61% done downloading your video... >_<

Oh, and by the way, Google searches for all terms by default (unless, of course, you exclude them with the minus sign), including phrases marked off by quotation marks. No need for plus signs (unlike with AltaVista, which is what I always used to use).

For example, when I search for <u>why don't you shut up homestar</u>, I get 19,900 results... but when I search for <u>"why don't you shut up homestar"</u>, I get only <a href="http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Experim ... lm">one</a>.

yeh if u use one plus google will tell u exactly what u said but it would exclude the "E" in "E Nomine" , it also will tell u that u can use "++" to override its single plus rule

amazon.com, i need to think of that more often... i got a buncha e nomine in a trade, it was like "whaa? u like e nomine too!?" "yehhh! lets send each other our collections!"

:lol:
