This show looks totally fucking awesome, with the high-quality animation I've come to expect from Pioneer.
Grrr. I can't find a link for the trailer except my Chobits Vol. 6. Has anyone seen the actual show yet?
Wow, Last Exile is like my dream show

I've seen the first 14 episodes of Last Exile on TechTV awhile ago. It's definetely one of Gonzo's best anime series (in my opinion their second best is Saikano). Probably what makes it captivating is the setting almost feels like a fictional 19th century novel backed up with a unique plot. Oh yeah, this series MUST be heard in English since the setting gives an American/European flavor to it; it's a good thing the VAs from Bang Zoom! Entertainment did an exceptional job with one.

i think that..... well...... yeah what they all said..
A friend complained that it was slow paced, I don’t quite see it that way, more chill than slow. The character animation is simple yet beautiful, absolute joy to watch. I’ve yet to figure out exactly how a vanship would actually work, but there pretty cool. The plot is interesting and involving, the power struggles between the Guild, the Disith, and the Anatoray keep things shifting all the while. Top recommendations from me, I’ve only seen up to volume 5 but the quality solid so I’m sure it will maintain.
