Converting AVI to DV WITHOUT quicktime Pro
This has probably been asked before, but I haven't found an answer by searching. I've ripped AVI footage, but need to convert it to DV format so that classic iMovie can import it. I don't have quicktime pro - is there any free app I can download for either windows or mac that can convert avi to dv?

Thanks, but I tried that, but it explains iMovie 3 (which understands avi files as long as they are under a certain length) whereas I have the original old-school iMovie, which cannot understand anything other than still images or DV streams. *d'oh*
I can split the avi files down to whatever length i need, its not an issue. I just was wondering if there was any free program that could convert the avi files to dv without buying quicktime pro. I'm prob going to get a new computer soon, but I'm trying to remaster an old vid that was made with the original imovie. If anyone knows of anything that would allow me to import the avi files, I'm all ears.
