they take no TRUE anime serious here. the only ones that are anywhere are either pokemon or yugioh. one time it was digimon, but it died out. I just hate all of this. if they just give 1 TRUE anime a shot, and play it everywhere, then people will understand and anime become more popular here and maybe, just maybe when japan realease a new anime, it will be released in america at the same time. That is what i live and wait for.
If the army or navy ever looks upon heavens scenes, they would see that the streets are guarded by the United States Marines.

I doubt that will happen. I thought that too, for a while, but I think most people are too ignorant for that. It wouldn't be enough to show a good, more mature anime title (which I don't think is neccesarily always true) in a mainstream setting, you'd need an audience that's receptive to it. And something tells me it'll take more than one good title to get the majority to take anime seriously

great minds think alike, but if we want to make it happen, we have to do it by force

Personally, I think the problem isn't the lack of availability of anime, I mean, you can pick up decent anime anywhere these days. The problem is a wider cultural issue, which has to do with people inherently not giving animation credit as a serious medium, and a bunch of other assumptions and cultural incompatibilities with Japan.
And, yes, the inability to change that quicky thanks to the ever-persistent problem of ignorance and indifference that is, sadly, cross-cultural

People don't get anime not because they can't see good anime, but because they don't want to get it - and because the culture they live in is, in a way, prejudiced against it.

I'm 20 and I feel like 58

only few people are born with that gift of being 20 and feeling 58 ^__^
hmm i still say that we should use force to get them to like it cuz they need a pick-me-up

I tried. They tend to fall asleep in the middle of episodes, as they try to avoid paying attention to the screen as much as their attention span, or lack therof, would allow. Using force to wake them up is an option, but an option you'd have to excercise often. And you can get tired doing that every half an episode.

i tried force feeding anime to friends, i even got them to buy a series or a movie that they liked. but in the end they just went back to there old habits and still think anime is "just cartoons", they have to like it on there own, or they will just hate it to prove a point.
