Is it just my Adobe Premiere version (6.5) or does Adobe...
Whenever I try Adobe with AVI files, it sorta can't play correctly while testing it (but it has no problem with exporting correctly, it's just fine for exporting). My Adobe is version 6.5. Do I need a higher version for version 6.5?

Oops.
I meant to say "Do I need a higher version to play AVI files correctly?"
What I'm trying to say is, whenever I try testing AVI files, it sorta freezes, and can't play it. This is only making and testing the video. I have no problem at all with the exportion.

No you should not need a higher version of Premeire. Mine works just fine ^^
The problem probably lies in your hardware. If you have an older computer, one running low on diskspace or don't have alot of RAM.
here's what you need to idealy run premeire on your computer ^^ Anything less and it may be a bit buggy o.0
256MB of RAM
DirectX-compatible sound card
1,280x1,024 32-bit color video display adapter
Pentium III 800MHz processor (Pentium 4 3GHz recommended)

Actually, higher versions are even worse, at times, with .avi source files (I assume by .avi source you mean compressed source, i.e. DivX or XviD or 3ivX or whatever). Premiere Pro (and I assume Pro 1.5, but I haven't tinkered much with the upgrade yet) handles .avi files just fine as source, as long as the source uses a codec that keyframes every frame (the usual suspects in this lineup are MJPEG, HuffYUV, and just good old uncompressed). With a DivX or XviD or other compressed source that doesn't make every frame a keyframe, results with Premiere Pro are iffy at best. I highly recommend taking the clips and expanding them to one of the three codecs I listed as working just fine (HuffYUV offers the best quality, without being quite as huge as uncompressed) using a program like VirtualDub.
If I went over your head...I apologize...I just noticed I was probably getting too technical up there...

ok, heres what you do, you look in the forums and say "oh look heres a topic in the SOFTWARE HELP section that has my same problem... maby i should read that and fix it" or if there isnt a topic in there make one in the SOFTWARE HELP section, not general amv..RamzaBeoulve259 wrote:Whenever I try Adobe with AVI files, it sorta can't play correctly while testing it (but it has no problem with exporting correctly, it's just fine for exporting). if we want questions like this to stop popping up in general we need to send them to the proper section, they can get much better help there.

There's no need to be passive-agressive with the poor fellow.
the simplest solution would be to click on Project>Render Work Area and then try to preview.
