Did your anime taste "evolve"?

You can have a simple yes or no answer, though more detail would make this thread more interesting ^_^

Ok, first "real" anime I saw was Oh My Goddess. Some of the stuff I saw on Japanimation kinda caught my eye, but oh, the mosaic blur was just soooo useful [not]

I started getting away from dbz and the like [saw it on tv, knew it was anime, but got tired of seeing ugly [in my opinion] artwork]. I then fell in love with the "harem" style anime: Tenchi, Nadesico, classic stuff like that. Then I realized that I REALLY hate dumbass heroes who can't make a freakin' decision when the answer is so blatantly obvious at times.

For now, I'd say I've evolved from action buff, to romance junkie. Doesn't even have to be comical. (Boys Be comes to mind, VERY underrated anime) Please Teacher, for obvious reasons. Kei's not an idiot at the end and he doesn't need 20+ girls jumping on him.

These are just one's views, I say for myself. What about you guys/gals? Did your anime tastes change over the years or you still like the same old same old cause it's just "good" for ya?

Well for me, i started wtching Sailor Moon and DBZ, standard shtuff, i think that's where many newly found otaku came from. from there i learned of Tenchi Muyo. even back then i watched it because it was like an addiction, and my friends or associates were really up into it (except for DBZ, that i was watching because Freiza said a great line, "There are 3 things i hate: arrogance, bad taste and worse hair, and our friend [vegeta] has all three")

I can't say my taste has evolved all that much, but i can say i've learned regret, and have just found more and more anime and whatnot. i'm still pretty broad on the genres, and i don't think i will change from that honestly. just stay in a state that changes only as the anime changes. best evolution i can think of is for me to stop watching the crap.

The first anime I ever watched and liked was Robotech, but it could only be seen on a little 4 inch black and white television in my parent's bedroom (it was the only TV in the house that could pick up the Fox affiliate's signal from San Antonio). So I didn't get to watch it very often. The first actual actual anime exposure I got (other than the lucky Blockbuster rental or two) was in college, with Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Slayers NEXT, Marmalade Boy, and a bunch of other great shows. So I don't think I ever had to 'mature' in my appreciation, I got the good stuff pretty fast.

You know, I was still able to 'revert' and watch Dragonball Z on Cartoon Network every day, though...(now doesn't that sound like an 'elitist' sentiment....)

I still like whatever I like whenever I might've liked it, or if I will be liking it in the near future then I like that too.

The first anime I ever really watched was Bebop. I liked it at the time. After that, though, my tastes shifted to things more plot-centered, instead of centered on standalone eps.

Not really.... I mean yeah, of course I progressed a lot, but it's not like there was a massive plate shift or anything like that ever. I still like all the shows I used to like, although when I'm watching a show the first time I usually like it more than at any other time.

I confess; the first Anime i saw(and knew it was one) was Dragonball.
After it I´ve read the 42 Dragonball Manga which I borrowed from my neighbours friend.
If I evolved in my taste is hard to tell, it´s been only three years since I really know what Anime is.
My first "real" Anime was NGE. It isn´t like I just watch one sort of Anime. I like sweet ones like Chobits, but also dark, voilent ones like Eden. But if I had to choose one I would take the houmorous action type(Spriggan/Trigun)

I’m set in the fact that I don’t like any particular kind of anime, I like all forms of it. The main factors for me are superb animation quality and an interesting story, plus a good shifting plot. As long as those are present, all is good with the world.
