Which makes me feel negative.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:I don't recall your banner but if it was a negative message (even if funny) it can't be accepted.deathtoyouall wrote:then i suppose it was terribly offensive, i thought it was a original joke, dedicated not only to the hard work of amv creators everywhere, but to the homeland of anime, since it was written in a haiku style. maybe im an optimist with too much experience, or as most people would say, a pessimist.

When one of my banners got rejected for being too negative awhile back, I was very tempted to submit a banner with the same image, but which said "message removed for being too negative" then another image (being an animated gif) that said "no, I'm not bitter".
But then I realized that it would almost certainly get rejected. So I didn't even make it.
Every one I make that gets accepted is "unworthy" anyway. *sigh*

When you lose a contest-type-thing, it makes you want to do one of two things:
try harder and win the next time
or
give up and pretend you don't care
I'm feeling like the latter. 2 rejected, 6 accepted but "unworthy". I'm sure some have had more than that fail, though. Wonder what the record is? Maybe you shouldn't tell me, it'd just make me depressed.

i cant think of a way to phrase it so that it doesnt sound sarcastic, rude or insulting in anyway, it wasnt intended to be, but how the fact that only 14% were worthy encourage anyone to try again or offer any softening of the fact that you were rejected? the more i consider it, the more i'd like to hear a real answer, it might clear up how some are so joyous all the time.

I guess this is as good a place to post a banner-related question as any...I never got an e-mail about *my* recently rejected banner, and I don't believe it went into any sort of spam filter because I specificly remember getting amvorg@hotmail.com whitelisted by the guy who manages SpamAssasin where I have my main e-mail account. Unless it got caught in another spam filter down the line...
I'm not bitter about being rejected but I'd still like to know why...if it was rejected for the reason I think it was rejected, I can quickly fix the problem and re-submit.
(The rejected banner in question, if anyone cares. My second attempt...the first is an animated banner that I can't seem to get down to being under 20k without it looking terrible. I confess that this was made under the influence of sheer boredom.)

Emails now come from admin@animemusicvideos.org - so maybe that's the problem?
