Help needed with Adobe Premiere

Post by Dreakon » Fri Sep 03, 2004 3:06 pm

I have Adobe Premiere 6.5 but I am lost on how to use it. I kind of want to mix and match two different wmv videos I have. I want to take like the first 1 minute 36 seconds of one (with sound) and use it to replace the first 1 minute 36 seconds of the other video (also replacing the sound).

Since AMV's are mixing and matching parts of different videos, I am hopeing some people here can help me out and at least give me a start on how exactly I would do what I want.

First thing to do: convert your .WMVs to something else, preferably lossless.

Well, can I not do it with WMV? I dont care if its WMV really, this isnt a AMV, its just a movie. If it's that important ill change them, but is there anyone that can help me out with doing what I need?

It wont let me edit, so I wanted to tell you I understand why it cant be WMV now. I would still like a little explanation as to how to do what I want. Thanks ;)

Preheat CPU to 100°F.
Import both videos.
Throw one of them onto the timeline and delete its audio.
Throw the other one onto the timeline and delete its video.
Preview to ensure that everything lines up the way you want it.
Export.
Allow to cool for 1-2 hours before serving. Makes about 12 servings.

Thanks for the help, but I only want to take the beginning (first 1 minute, 36 seconds) of one of the videos and replace the beginning of a different video with that one. Hopefully that makes sense.

Oh, well then once you've dumped that clip into the Timeline, just drag its endpoint back to the 1:36 mark, which will cut off everything after it.

Or use the Razor tool to cut the clip at 1:36 and delete the resulting clip that starts there.

Have you read the manual and/or help files?
