So far on the Nifty guest list:

Linas Vepstas - Linux guru behind such projects as GnuCash and the ESA/390 port.
Susan Napier - The University of Texas' resident Anime expert.
Jay Maynard - Known for the Hercules emulator, his Tron Costume, and his mastery of the Chupaqueso.
Dr. Mario Kart - Bringing the $1K Super Mario Kart Battle Mode Challenge to Linucon.
October 8-10, 2004 in Austin, Tx.
Red Lion Inn, 6121 North I-35, Austin, TX 78752;

I really think you guys should look into getting Heroine Virtual (http://www.heroinewarrior.com) and Linux Media Arts (http://www.lmahd.com) into exhibiting.
Why? A few of the videos on this site were made with their products. If you're considering anything related to AMVs then it's not much of a stretch.

Thanks!
We could use all the help we can get. I'll send this all off to the heads and see what they want to formulate. I though they were crazy to suggest a video contest this late in the game, but that's the head of any fan run convention for you.

What other types of AMV things are you guys looking to have at the event? Are you going to screen any type of AMVs or just projects?
And I'd be there, but it's a bit too far of a drive
Good luck with it though, it looks like a lot of fun!
