Uh... More or less. HuffYUV is a codec, which basically means a compression and decompression scheme. It's not the actual encoder, though.

Yes and no. It depends on several things, including OS, whether you are willing to take the speed hit, and if you are using Premiere.

Aren't there AVISynth import plugins for NLE's other than Premiere?

And even if there aren't, you can always use makeAVIS to wrap the scripts...

Not that I found for Magix, and makeAVIS doesn't work. I tried.

Not even with ConvertToRGB32() slapped on the end of the scripts? Because that's how I got it to work for WMM2...

Didn't think of that.

<insert testing here>

No, still doesn't work.

Ulead's programs seem to not read AVS scripts either. at least their DVD authoring software doesn't.

But theres always the option of using VFApi or a similar solution to make an AVI wrapper. Just a little more annoying, so I use tmpgenc to convert them to mpeg2 first then use those. (for DVD authoring anyway) For Editing, Virtual frame serving, or Huffys would seem to be the way to go IMO.
