Oh my goodness...Does my computer just suck or does it take three hours to download a video? I have dial up...maybe thats it, but I'm using my friends new laptop. I was all excited because I thought it would be faster. How long does it usually take? Is there any way to make it go faster?

Help...

I'm stuck on 56K as well, and usually the download rate for me is 5.5KB/sec. I say just be patient and let the laptop run for a few hours. In the mean time you can do something constructive in order to pass the time away.

*sigh* I wish a faster computer made connections faster, but alas...

My speed is alright, but I'm capped at a ridiculous 1GB a month download (with 3 users sharing it). Haven't seen any new AMV's in almost two months now...

Im paying $72 a month (AustralianDollars) for a 12Mg cable connection, im capped at 12G a month then i go to 28k but i dont pay anymore unlike other isp providers here...

ya know, you can just get unlimited downloads on a 512kb conection for about $AU80 . and ive found, with freinds that have cable, that you dont get nearly the same speesd on p2p as you do on http and ftp

I just need a job, that's all. I'd be cruising unlimited at 4.5mbps for $60 CAN around here - and that's goddamn Quebec where it's far worse with access than elsewhere

I'd say, if you're into AMV's or anything bandwith-intensive at all, a good broadband connection is always more than worth it!

ahhhh if computer speed would help dls faster ~_~ 2.4 ghz i wonder how fast that would be ^^

well i used to use dial up and with a dirty line too;; i would usually just keep the dl goin for the night u know sine usually no one calls between the time of midnight and 7am

now i run 3mbs cable for 35ish a pop;; but ill be dorming in at UCR soon ^^ the wireless over there still clocks pretty high for a 802.11b connection;; not that 11mbs is bad or anything

its much better than 3mb
