text box page entry

Post by madmag9999 » Tue Aug 17, 2004 12:53 am

idk if this is posible with php but i think it would be nice to be able to enter the page number u want to go to in a text box for say long forum threads or long lists of amvs, that have many pages.

When you are viewing a forum thread, simply change the "&start=XX" part of the url to the number of the post you want to start at. For example if you wanna start at post 90, that would put you on page 7, assuming 15 posts to a page. If you are on the first page of a thread.

For example, here is the url to page 1 of my amv hell 3 thread:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... sc&start=0
I could just change the url to http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... c&start=50
and it will take you to page 4 or something.
If you are on the first page of a thread, you will have to add the "&start=XX" bit yourself.

Yea something like that would be cool, but it would be too difficult for them to make modifications to the forum from what I understand. So this is the method that I've always used :p

I remember the Shoujo-ai Forums implemented something similar except they used a DROP-DOWN box instead. Can that be implemented?
