How is Anime Made?
I'm curious on how Anime is made, I know Anime means Animation in Japanese. I Searched through Google and Yahoo also to see how Anime/Animation was made.
Does Japan use some sort of a program? I heard rumors that they use 3D rendering programs like 3DsMax, Lightwave 3D,maya 3D, and so on.

...Hm...?
First a picture is drawn, and then another picture is drawn with a slight difference, and then another picture is drawn with another slight difference, and so on. Yes, the animators really do have to draw out every tiny movement of the characters.
Recent anime use digital painting, in which the drawings are scanned into a computer and pixelized, making for a perfectly clear image.
...Erm...really, anime is made the same way that western cartoons are. (Except without the ugliness)

No, of course not. Unless we're talking something like the new "Appleseed", anime characters are still 2-D, and probably will be for a long time, with some exceptions. They scan sketches, and trace them in software such as Adobe Illustrator, turning them into vector graphics. This has several advantages, including the fact that these images can be rescaled as much as needed, and if neccesary - modified, making the 'in-betweener' frame-by-frame work significantly easier.skkaos wrote: I see...dawm I thought they made characters in a 3D rendering program then some how make them look like a "Anime" character. I like the new CG-drawn animation like that. It looks really clean and smooth if you ask me

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Not entirely accurate, many 3D rendering programs can actually be configured to render out 2D looking frames. South Park is a good example of such an animation technique.Otohiko wrote:No, of course not. Doing it the old fashion way the big work is in making all the key frames, the rest is easier because you're more copying something than making an original something. Like drawing from a picture in a magazine instead of just doing something from scratch out of your head.
