Instrumental Anime Project

We're focusing on the first project release right now. I think the main issues now are a few folks finishing the vids, and of course, getting the whole thing together, making the monologue/introductions, and compressing the two finished parts of it.
As for the next one - well, that's the next idea, but I think rose4emily is a bit too busy with this as is for now. I believe he was even looking to see if anyone else wants to take over the management of that idea. But I don't think it'll start until the first project is done, anyway.
***
Oh yea, two important notes, probably to rose4emily:
1) I'm thinking of re-writing the monologue for 'Ararat', mainly because I think the current one doesn't fit in too well with the background imagery I provided. Don't rush with voicing it, I think I'd best change it first...
2) I think you mentioned something about possible webspace a little while ago - something like 100 megs - should I just email you about that? I could use a bit in the future, esp. in case I need beta/non-local-compliant video hosting. If that offer still stands, that'd definitely be appreciated a lot (especially seeing how I'd never have enough bandwith to run an FTP server myself)...

With the exception of Maverick, who dropped out, I think everyone has a finished product for the project. but otherwise yeah it looks like we're just waiting for monologues and to get everything together.Otohiko wrote:I think the main issues now are a few folks finishing the vids, and of course, getting the whole thing together, making the monologue/introductions, and compressing the two finished parts of it.
BDawid, http://amv.dwp.filetap.com/animasia.htm has a list of all videos the project currently includes.

Technically it's around the world in 80 days. Eight would be a wee bit fast for a hot air balloon.BDaWiD wrote:So the next one is animasia2 or the "atwi8d"Otohiko wrote: As for the next one - well, that's the next idea, but I think rose4emily is a bit too busy with this as is for now. Hey - I've been busy.
But now I'm not. Renovation work is done, I'm on vacation, and I've just finished figuring out how I'm going to do the final assembly and encoding work for the fullscreen and widescreen compilations.
A) Convert to .wav and .png
B) Use script to add/remove frames if needed from framelist to match framerate
C) Re-assemble each video with its monologue and bumper.
D) Save lossless versions to CD (at least the ones that will fit).
D) Encode as MPEG1, MPEG2, and MPEG4 (XviD)
E) Save compressed versions to CD.
F) Use AVIMerge to join the now homogenously encoded segments into the two longer files, in the MPEG1, MPEG2, and MPEG4 encodings.
This evening I hope to get my audio recording setup back in order, so the first few monologues should be showing up soon. I'll put up a post when I think I have something ready for you all to see.
I would like to get an "official" version of each monologue submitted to me by e-mail, PM, or FTP. I'll go digging through the forums for the ones I don't receive this way, but I'd like to know for sure which ones you all want "committed to tape" before I try to compile the project.
I tried doing a merge of all of the lossless files into one really huge file, but realized that I don't have the hard disk space, and that appearently more than one version of HuffYUV is in existence. That's why the merged compilation will only be available in lossy formats.

Ah, good.
Yea, with the monologue - I mentioned eariler I was planning to rewrite the one for Ararat to go better with the images I submitted. For 'The Wasteland'... should be fine as per website however.
Is Songbird still doing some of those speeches?
