Sometimes, I get the sense that this board is really just Pyle's personal therapy session.

sorry, but im not gonna sugarcote this for you pyle...

Just give it up.

you obviously lack the skills to do what you're trying to accomplish. If you keep switching back and forth between song and anime it just means you had no concept to begin with... except for make what you think would be the next supercool video.. You should know by now thats not where you start. and because your starting there its making you look stupid. Why don't you try something more to your skill level, and has an actual concept.

ya know, i know exactly how ya feel. most of them i got something around 30 seconds of completed footage to 15 seconds of footage left to complete. then i just give up and think, fuck that i cant finish this, or that the idea's crap, or its bein doen allready. then school and life starts eating at me, and i dont have the energy to do any serios editing. sometimes i'd just open vegas and start messing around with effects and stuff. but i never got any solid editing done. then when i wana do some rael editing i start having proplens with codecs and other things. theirs a whole load of stuff thats pushed me back. and then thiers allways preasure on me to do good, even if its unintentional and im the only one thats noticing it. so o work realy hard on a video, making it as perfect as i can. but i never end up finishing thie vid. eventualy i just give myself some stupid excuse to stop making it (thier arent enough scenes. vid quality woent turn out good. anything to convince myself to stop making it).

Pyle, what ya have to do is just relax, and try not to give the fuck about anything. stay away from this board for a bit. or do something that'l shake of any preasure you have to create a good amv. do some editing and show it to freinds outside the net. dont wory about geting motivated. dont think about it. dont search for inspiration, just forget it exists. and let it find you. dont make a vid unless the idea comes up from your sub consios. and if you dont actively think about it, then an idea will come. plan it, and get to work. then whenever its done, upload it. i'l be waiting.

(why do i sudenly feel like misato in end of eva ? )

I just went through this. I had an idea that really grabbed me but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I'd open up After Effects and stare at the timeline for 10 minutes before closing it in disgust. Even other peoples videos were starting to drag me down, either they sucked and I was left thinking I could do better if only I had the will to edit or they didn't suck and I was left thinking I suck in comparison (which goes a long way towards explaining why I still owe a dozen people ops a month later, I just haven't had the interest in watching their vids). I came fairly close to deleting all my editing programs and AMVs and finding a new hobby entirely.

Instead I made a deal with myself, I'd do a short easy video I knew offhand that I could throw together in a few days. It didn't matter if it wasn't as good as others I've done, I wasn't going for perfection. It didn't matter if I didn't enjoy it, I can endure something I don't like for a couple days. If didn't even matter if I thought the results sucked totally. I was about to quit anyway so what did it matter what my last video looked like? I forced my way through it (it's the one in my sig currently) and it did suck compared to others I've done and it wasn't fun to do. However it did stir my creative juices and right now I'm mildly bothered that no video stores around here are open at 1:30am so I gotta wait till tommorow to buy the Perfect Blue DVD and get started on my idea.

So force yourself to do an easy and crappy last video. If after that you still feel at a loss then maybe it's time to quit but perhaps it'll rekindle your interest instead.

As a total side note, Arigatomyna does have a very good point.

I don't think what he said was idiotic at all. It can't be a very solid or engaging concept if you can't finish what you started.

Pyle, I think you just need to do something simple and enjoyable. Even if that means making an angsty LBZ video. Whatever you do, you don't have to add it to the database. This is a hobby, not a chore.

There's no reason to stop, unless it really is just an obligation. You don't need to please or impress anybody. Save all that ambition for something along the lines of a career, because it sure as hell doesn't look like you're going to use video editing to advance a career.

The majority of the posts here are like something Jack Black would say.

'Do yourself a favor, and just GIVE UP!'

It's like having therapy from a bunch of prisoners, only half of them are cynics and the other half just don't give a crap

Oh yes I forgot to write to Arigatomyna. I don't worship Koop. I like Euphoria, but I don't worship it. What I am amazed by is the amount of work put into it  .

Shortly after scrolling down the first page I encountered several disapointing replys. They pissed me off pretty bad, in a way that makes you want to go 'Oh yeah? I'LL SHOW YOU BITCHES!'
