Post by TheImmortal » Fri Aug 13, 2004 7:15 am

Im just curious whats the difference between the 2 kenshin series? Besides the fact the one seems alot mroe violent and darker. Do they have anything to do with eachother?

Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal), the darker, violent one is about how Kenshin went from being the Batousai to the no kill policy he has now, the TV series is about his adventures as the wandering samurai and former batousai, and the last movie, Samurai X: Reflections, is the last arc of the manga done in the style of Trust and Betrayal, thus ending the series.

In the samurai x shows he has like no emotion. While in the kenshin series he is always smiling in stuff. They shouldnt have made such an unimaginable change in a character i think.

The TV series is released by Media Blasters, while the OAVs and movie are by A.D. Vision. I believe that's one reason for the differing names.

If i could be bothered finding the link.. someone once said in a post very similar to this... not a complete quote but something like this.
"from being a emotionless assassin, to just a total toon"...
I couldnt agree more, the main reason i hate the series.

The OVA's or manga's are exceptional, but the series just blows donkeys balls.

Um... doesn't the same assassin-to-goofball thing happen in the manga?

Actually I've seen dwchang type enough about it to know that the last manga arc was completly different from Reflections.

Reflections only has in it a few parts from the last manga and they aren't even that accurately done. Also the ending is way way way off from the manga so I'm not too sure where you got that. Reflections does not end the series, it's just some awful, cheap attempt at trying to end the series b/c people were mad at the ending of the TV series, but they do a horrible job. Everyone should turn to the manga for the true end, not Reflections.

Last I saw in the Reflections movie he was a toon.. its probably because its like a Pilot for the series... even though its not, its definetly not part of the manga movies. ... He dresses in Red in reflections :P see much different
