I'm back, but I can't get on the server to upload the huffy. Rose4Emily, could you send me a PM so we can get this straightened out? I would hate to hold up the project especially since my video is finished.
Jasper-Isis - I can't rave enough about Absolution so I'm not even going to get started here. I'll get a full review up within a few days probably.
Speaking of feedback I only have 10 days to finish my Haibane Renmei video and I could really use some advice. I've got nearly a minute complete execpt for a possible scene change or two and other sections are completly planed out. Please PM me if you would like to watch/coment on the beta.

Can you make it really small? (like, ~10 mb) Then I might be able to help out. I'm way over my d/l limit this month, but I'd rather be over that limit with some benefit to anyone other than myselfpen-pen2002 wrote: Speaking of feedback I only have 10 days to finish my Haibane Renmei video and I could really use some advice. The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'm back.
Sorry about the ftp going down, appearently my sister somehow disrupted my network connection trying to set up her IM account on my server (which I have since told her to stay away from - there's plenty of other machines to screw up over here). I just respawned the process, so it should be working again.
I still haven't found my recording equipment, but I think it should turn up soon, as my father and I have just taken apart the entire barn to organize it and set up his new woodshop (I'm now living in the loft where it used to be).
As to the female vocals - why don't you put them up through the FTP and I'll listen to them. I might very well prefer them to my own, especially if the recordings are clean, and it shouldn't be too much work to adjust the set a bit to account for the gender of the speaker.
Pen-Pen: why don't you put your Haibane beta on my server as well, and I'll look at it as soon as I have a chance.
Everyone who wants web space: I need passwords before I can set up accounts - 8 or more characters, preferably something that has a number or two as well. My system won't accept the shorter passwords I've recieved so far. Space isn't too much of a concern, so I'll say ~100 MB (which is enough to host a small country given efficient web design), and bandwidth is going to be plentiful for most of the year, so anything composed of simple text and images should be fine.
I'm still messing around with MEncoder, trying to get the timing dead-on for joining segments. I think I'll have to convert them all to an intermediate PNG stage, but I'm trying to get a direct transcode to work before I resort to creating about 20 GB of single-frame image files in order to recompile them into a pair of XviDs, and MPEG1s. I've decided to try both for the distribution file, and to archive them as the individual HuffYUV files. I've yet to find a free MPEG2 codec (perhaps the licencing of MPEG2 forbids such a thing), but I'll make an MPEG2 if I do come across one.

haha, you wouldn;t beleive I just got through watching this video I just found on my HD wondering what it was, and was thinking this videos pretty sweet. I wonder who did it. Kinda brushed it off and came in here to read your post about Absolution. Now it all makes sense ;ppen-pen2002 wrote:

Ditto, great vid there Jasper. I probably downloaded it from Pen-pens link and forgot about it.
Anyways, I'm kinda lost on this narative thing, are we supposed to be recording our own naratives now? or are you choosing a single voice to use for the entire project?

Thanks! KrzT will be happy to know that as well.pen-pen2002 wrote:Jasper-Isis - I can't rave enough about Absolution so I'm not even going to get started here. I'll get a full review up within a few days probably.

I just tried to download your HR video from Rose4's ftp, then realized that you were still in the process of uploading it. Whoops!
Bakadeshi: thanks for the compliments as well. I was hoping to run into you at Otakon so I could give you the money for the DVD and not have to mail it or paypal it later.

As for the narrative voices... I'll try it if I can convince my friend to find the microphone... which could take a while because we're all lazy people.

Argh... I hoped I'd never say this. Alright, here I go. I'm totally lost with what to edit next in my video, I'm not too happy with what I have, and a lack of footage. Also put on top of that other obligations I have, and I'm afraid I cannot participate in this collaboration.
I'm really sorry for the trouble I've brought.
