It's called "Hen" in Japan and is based off a manga of the same name.

Yeah, the HEN manga was better, Strange Love was strange.

But there are many lesbian undertones and couples in anime/manga, the undertones are common.

Shoujo-Ai and Yuri.

People should know this stuff.

It's not a big deal. There are hints of shoujo ai in lots of anime. Look at Card Captor Sakura, for instance.
