Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

My FIRST AMV.. has issues

There is it "Empyrean Damage". This problem has been getting worse over the years.

First of all, when i encoded this video, i was new at this and i didn't kno what was what. I was satisfied, the quality was good, resolution pretty nice too.

But now, since early 2003, new codecs do not interpret the video correctly, not even in normal playback. I've tried converting it every way I can think of. I have a whole slew of codecs, not just mpeg4 variations.

I've even tried unconventional methods, such as letting nero try to automatically convert it to S/VCD.. but no luck, when the problem initially started back in 2003 nero would encode the video upside down 0.o.......

but now it doesn't interpret it right at all either.

If anyone can convert it to mpeg1 then i would be greatly appreciative of them.

Hrm, I'm not that great with all this technical stuff myself, but what the heck, I can try.

GAH!

What the heck hacked-up codec did you use....

I CAN pull the video out of there...but I'd have to pull each of the 6180+ frames out as seperate .jpgs or .bmps, and put them back together. That's not something I'd relish doing....:(

Codec seems to be DivX 3 Low-Motion.. Seems like I managed to convert it to MPEG1 succesfully, PM me if you want the file for download :)

The ffdshow codec has no trouble playing it all.

I guess there are still people without it.

Why?
