People ignoring people is a fact of life around here and should never be taken personally. Just because no one responds to one of your posts does not mean that no one likes you. It happens all the time.

I also find it a little disturbing that you only waited 45 minutes to conclude that you were being ignored. Also, cries for attention around here very rarely work.

Anyway. If you want recognition, one way to get it is to submit your videos to contests at conventions. You might also get people to take a look at your videos by announcing them on the AMV Announcements board, but make sure you keep it polite and don't flame people for constructive criticism, etc.

I'd mention the Opinion Exchange board as well, but you seem to have discovered that already.

If by "subtle" you mean "getting them played on the big screens at Otakon and other cons", then yes. :)
I knew it was "subtle", stupid google, every spelling variation I tried came up with something. Back on topic, I guess I'm kinda .org centric. I forgot about conventions, having never been to one.

Well I'll be honest...I've never even went into the AMV Announcements forum...ever, so I wouldn't know what has and hasn't been announced...all I know is I've never announced any project of mine...people seem to like my latest quite a bit but...meh.

And since we're on the subject, i was curious - is it ok to announce a video after its been out for awhile, or is it more of a "while its fresh" thing?

Then I discovered this really good Full Moon wo Sagashite video. This is the creator's first video, and I don't think he/she posted in the forums announcing it.
Aw, thats a such a nice little hidden gem there! It was a really touching video... up until she threw in a clip of Takeshi taking a nosedive off a cliff... at which point I burst into laughter. But still, very touching overall :p

That video was good...a bit depressing at the end.

I usually get some good videos from people doing exchanges in the op forum. Next I get from word of mouth. After that I get what I see at anime club.
