Local, Direct, Indirect

Post by LordDogbert » Tue Aug 03, 2004 10:01 pm

Sorry, but I'm new (yes, i'm new, but please do any mocking after my question is answered) and I don't quite understand the difference between the Local, Direct, and Indirect types of downloads.

besides the fact that I cant download Local ones until after 2 weeks

Can someone explain it to me?

"But you can reach a star somestimes, can't you?"
"That would burn your hand clean off"

Any video marked "<b>DIRECT</b>" is available off-site: go to the video's info page, right-click on the "<b>DIRECT</b>", and select "Save Target As...".

Any video marked "<b>LOCAL</b>" is locally hosted, on the Org's own dedicated AMV server: click on the "<b>LOCAL</b>" and follow the instructions from there.

local... yes u cant dl for 2 weeks... are stored in the golden donut where creators can upload their own finished amvs FOR FREE... yes free;; but it wouldnt hurt to donate some money to a-m-v.org

direct means that the creator had uploaded the file somewhere else;; maybe their own website or something and by clicking on the link will basically give u a direct link to the file

indirect usually links to a site that has another link to the amv

direct and indirect are external links and local is well... local
