Opinions everyone has them (and I don't mean the ones people leave your videos).

What I'm getting at is, I make them for other people AND myself, I love to watch peoples reactions when they see them, or if they see something new.

I love it, it's the best feeling in the world.

Eh, as far as effects go, AMV's are still in the bottom, NOT the top. As for story, that is the aspect that has been present since the beggining of AMV-ing. You cannot "top" a certain video story with another. That's the way I see it. "Center of the sun" best story video so far? You've got to be kidding me  . Maybe for you it is, but for me...nope. Euphoria & Virtua Anime highest effects level? Have you seen "Olin" and "Mystery Conundrum"? Or even "Shounen Bushidou"? When it's about new and better effecting you shouldn't worry about it at all. The effects in AMV's have just started to develop.

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

I don't care about making breakthroughs or anything. I just have ideas in my head, and I want to see them come to life. That's all I care about. If people like it, great. If people hate it, fuck them. The main reason why I want opinions and feedback is so I can expand my horizons. If I was the only one watching my AMVs, I'd never get new ideas (in terms of editing...err, I think you know what I mean).

As far as making AMVs for other people...well, I can't say if that's a "good" or "bad" path, but I think if that's how you feel, you're going to have a very rough time feeling satisfied with any AMV you make. Hell, according to the star ratings, Puppets and Bugs sucks shit. You know what? I still consider it my masterpiece.

MORAL OF THE STORY: "Guano" is a funny word.

You want innovation, start pushing the bounds. Don't try to create a video that's like Euphoria but mildly different, instead try to create a video that's different from any other video you've seen. You want to know where the innovation is, take a look at <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 7">this</a>, <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 1">this</a>, <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 4">this</a>, <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 6">this</a>, or even <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 3">this</a> (if I'm lucky). These are all videos that tried to push the bounds in one way or another and that's where innovation is.

Of course, from what I've noticed it doesn't make you one of the popular well known creators and there are still plenty of videos that aren't innovation but are still great. If it's fame your after just tread the path the innovative videos laid but make sure to do it better. Some people innovate, some people refine ideas, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with either.

It's ok, Veggie, we'll prove him wrong. Just give it some time.
