"My Opinions Recieved"- with extra Collaboration!

Post by AbsoluteDestiny » Sat Jul 31, 2004 11:06 am

Hi All,

Just announcing that we have a new "My Opinions Recieved" page. This lists all your videos and each link gives easy access to the opinions you have recevied on that video.

It also now contains videos you have collaborated on! So you can now read all those animix opinons :) Unfortunately collaborators are not allowed to reply to opinions at the moment as we need some sort of way of having ownership of a reply so collaborators dont edit each other's reponses.

As usual, let me know if anything funny happens on this new page :)

Excellent! I've been wanting to read comments about Animix a long time. This is really good news especially for multi-editor project participants.

Opinion counts on the page are wrong though.

Yeah I noticed the opinon count problem myself - probably a table update issue. I'll look into it.

Just curious, what's with the odd opinion numbers in the list on that page? For instance, my videos are supposed to have the following numbers of ops: 5, 2, 3, 23, 6, 6. However, in the page, the opinion column lists: 4, 2, 0, 18, 0, 0. What gives?

By the way... thanks to checking out that page, I realized that I have ops I didn't notice or reply to since I was away for a couple of weeks. Ow

What's the query that's grabbing this data?

I'm no SQL expert but I have encountered quite a few errors like this before and they've all been related to table joins :)

I've looked at the query. Seems that the way the ops are counted on a profile are via a query that actually counts them and on the new code it's reading a table entry that is supposed to be a quick access version of the number.

Seems that number hasnt been updated for a long time. Will probably swap to the method used on the profile page later.
