Petition: Angel Sanctuary.

Post by Willster » Fri Jul 30, 2004 1:58 pm

It's been over three years since Angel Sanctuary originally came out in English on VHS in North America. Well since then, I've yet to see anything on Central Park Media's website about releasing the next installment of it. If I remember, there are twelve episodes in the entire series of Angel Sanctuary .. amusing thing is? It's only out in Japan. This may just be me and a couple of random people, but I personally think Angel Sanctuary is the best anime ever created .. and I've seen a hell of a lot of animes and anime series. I'd just like to see the rest of it come to North America. After e-mailing US Manga Corps about it and not recieving a response .. I thought I'd post here, and see who else is with me. If I get enough people .. I just might turn it into a petition and send it to their sorry-asses. So who's with me? - Pulls out the huge amendment paper and a pen. - >D?
History is composed of choices and divergences. Each choice you make creates a new world and brings forth a new future. But at the same time, you're eliminating a different future with the choices you didn't make. A future that was destroyed even before it was born. This, is fate.

That's because it doesn't exist. This is what's currently available in Japan for Angel Sanctuary products. Please note that even though the OVA is divided among three discs, each disc contains only one 30-minute episode.

If you want the rest of the story, read the manga. That's why they made the animation in the first place, to hook new readers.

Alright, let me further clarify on what I meant. The " series ", is the manga series. What, did you think I was a high newbie that didn't know what I was talking about? o_O! Tenshi Kinryôku, as it's called in Japan, has actually 20. [ I checked and found I was wrong at 12. ] The only thing I've found out over the years is that they ran out of money to produce the rest of the Japanese Manga to English OAV. And if you need anymore proof as to this, watch the video. You'll see what I mean as to the phrase " there's more to it than it's showing ". Fair enough?

-- Oh, and incase you're going to ask why I called it " episodes ", is because that's a technical term for most anime series' that come out in comics. A series .. episodes. Etc' etc'. Heh.

Uh, if I remember correctly, the manga version of Angel Sanctuary has been licensed by Viz. Heck, I saw the first volume in Barnes and Noble.

You do remember correctly. Two volumes are already out; dates have been announced for #3 (July 31) and #4 (September 22) as well.

Okay .. two volumes. Where's the other eighteen? That's my point. They're keeping all of this crap in Japan, and not releasing it in America.

They're on their way. Viz's usual release schedule is six weeks between volumes. It takes time to translate, proofread and verify the translation, change the text in the word balloons, and print each volume. Be patient, they're coming.

Dude, it takes a lot of time to translate a manga. Plus in Viz's case, they need to convert it a left-to-right format without ruining the images.
