I have BGC2040 boxed, too. It is just a bad thing that I watched the classic version of BGC after the newer version..... so the classic version sucked in my view.

Anyway, BGC has a rocking storyline, full of twists and nice turns. It goes somehow the same way like NGE. The soryline starts full of action and a "monster of the week" sheme, the explanations follow later. I like this setting more than the "expanding" plots that come upwith more and more stuff, Escaflowne for example.
