I'm tryin to make an icon for the site but I can't keep it under 6k. How can I do this?

Yeah I tried that, got to 48x48 and still 14k?

you aren't using .bmp, are you?

Make it a .jpg or a .gif, and voila...

unless you make it an insanely-animated one, that is

32 x 32 are standard i think;; not sure tho

If you're saving a .JPG, lower the quality setting until you get a size that's low enough. Also try switching from baseline to progressive or vice versa.

If you're saving a .GIF, try using fewer colors or a different scheme (perceptive/selective/adaptive/web) (is there a better word for that than "scheme"? am I just forgetting it?). Also try switching from normal to interlaced or vice versa.

Found the problem. Just had to save as .gif and not .jpg. Thanks for the help.
