Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 and Bubblegum Crisis

Okay, I already own all of the DVDs for the old BGC, but I want to know if the BGC: Tokyo 2040 is different from the old one. I read the little excerpt on the back of the boxset and it says it was remastered. Is it just remastered or entirely different from the old one?

It is way differnent. And I mean way differnent. I have both versions. The box set of the BGC, and the movie Bubble Gum Crach (or the OVA what ever you want to call it). BGC Tokyo 2040 is a lot better (I have the box set for that). I liked the orginal its just that the newer one has a really good story to it and its what got my brother into anime. So, I strongly recommend watching it.

...?! I thought that 2040 was a totally different story, in a totally different time line, with totally different characters, except for one, Syllia (who kicked ass).

It is more or less. They basically got the basic story from the orgninal and then cranked it up about 100 natches story wise. Not to say that the orgnial BGC was bad its just the remake was so much better.
