W.I.P. Exchange Thread (hosting available.)

First you should read the sticky if you do not know what a WIP/beta is.

I feel like doing some reviews but don't want to do full opinions (which for me are quite long.) So I am offering to op some WIPs for people.
Come on, I know your dying to hit that render button and see what it looks like outside of your own imagination.

The Rules

Upload reasonably compressed video. (200 Kb/sec Xvid is ideal, but space is not a huge issue)

Video quality will not be judged.

full videos are fine but I won't op them just give lengthy comments.

you may check out my WIP or preview if you wish.

PM me if you have trouble connecting.

The FTP

68.40.193.84
Username: WIP
no password

If you do not have an FTP program get filezilla You can have it up and running in less than a minute.

Whoa.
You know, I was thinking of PMing you about this a while ago, since I have a video I'm working on right now (should be ready for WIP testing in the next couple of days), and some spare upload bandwith (sadly, I'm desperately running out of download capacity on my stupid ISP account), and I was gonna ask exactly that - if I could upload it to your FTP when ready and see if you could look at it for me O_o
I must be psychic or something.

Anyway, hopefully I'll stick with editing here, and will get it to you soon as I think it's ready for that (2 or 3... maybe 4 days). Would appreciate it if you could check it. I probably won't be able to get your vid until about 3 weeks later, when they give me some more bandwith again :|

Thanks for offering up the useful service :)

That's what I thought but maybe I'm wrong. I guess people with finished videos are the only ones who go to the oppinion exchage.

Man, back when I first came here this thread would be 20 pages long by now. Free hosting was like the Holy Grail for new creators.

kids nowadays...

who knows, who knows. I guess everyone's gotten very confident about their editing all of a sudden.

In other news, I'm planning to upload mine today, as soon as I fix a few things and make v0.2. It's an action video. Given that I think it's still a pretty rough job, I'm sure you'll have plenty to do even if noone else responds

Video uploading now :)

I'll also have a 'readme' file uploaded right after the video is done, to sort of serve as the description page for the vid. Don't go too too hard on it

How long are you doing this? In a couple weeks (hopefully) I'll have a video I'd like a WIP on but right at the moment it's still at that '10 seconds done but it's complete in my head' stage.

Well, with this level of traffic probably indefinatly. I'll start a new thread though when my IP changes in a month or so.

On another note, any length is welcome. even 20-30 seconds can be very interesting and I've watched and commented on clips that were just previews for the effects they were thinking of using. Also it's a lot of fun to watch a video evolve from early stages as I fond out when I critiqed about 6 or 7 different versions of "Ararat" by Otohiko.
