Quite clearly, it's because I have the greatest video ever known to mankind, and deserves to be <strike>forced upon</strike> conveniently shown to the widest number of people as many times as possible.Scintilla wrote:And is it just me, or is VegettoEX the only finalist on these tapes?

Actually no one who is in the contest should be in the overflows this year.MeriC wrote:I see some people's names who are in the contest are also being shown in the overflow, while other people who are in the contest aren't being shown in the overflow. Don't all of the tapes have all of the entries on them? Confused!
There were time constraints this year to prevent EVERYTHING from being in there. So in order to fit Otakon's tight schedule, contest finalists had to be removed.
What I had to go by were the names from the finalist list, which were compared with the credit/studio name provided by yourselves when you submitted.
Unfortunatly I do not know the joint name and studio name of the sum 170 people who submitted. So if names varried, then it is possable a few slipped through.
Everyone who is in the overflows is having their video shown twice (in the overflow screenings), and everyone in the contest is having theirs shown three times (in the 3 contest screenings).

Ah, gotcha. Makes perfect sense. I just noticed that there is one finalist who is listed as also being on an overflow tape.

Oh, also so people know, SP: Panda is on tape 1 and 2 because he sent two videos and Geoff never DQ'd him.
I can't DQ, so..... there he is.

Yeah Toji, count yourself among the few. There are only 12663 registered creators on the Org. You are one of them. No matter how bad you think you are, you are among a relatively small group of people who do this.genestarwind21122 wrote:Man Toji don't be so hard on yourself. It was a great video. I'm sure people will like it when they see it. Well I'll see you around and at the con. Oh yeah that's right I'm in your hotel room. Anyway please give me directions to the hotel we're staying at. Thanks.
I used to be the same way, thinking everything I made sucked. And My first two videos did suck (I still think so today). But the thing is, no matter how bad you think you are.... there is someone who thinks they are worse than you. Conversly, no matter how good you are, there is always someone better.
AMV creating has a very steep learning curve. Like anything else, you will improve over time. The trick is to have fun with it no matter what. It really does not matter HOW bad something might turn up. As long as you enjoyed making it, that's all that really counts.
Don't let the creations of super creators get you down. Those guys have been at this for years and years. And don't let elitists try to make you feel like they are better than you, don't buy into that hype.
In the end, what is comes down to is you are part of a minority that actually does this. A special breed of Otaku. Be proud of that at least.
