Should Anime Screencaps have its own forum?

The anime screencaps thread has been very popular... and is very long.

A new forum could be created for posting anime screen captures like those found in the Anime Screencaps thread. In the new forum, each capture or set of related captures would get its own thread. This would keep the threads manageable, let people know if they are interested in the kinds of pictures contained in a specific thread, make finding specific images easier and make it more usable for people on slower connections.

This is still under discussion so any thoughts are welcome.

Personally, as there are only a handful of long-running screencap threads, I'd say they wouldn't merit their own section of the forum. Plus, there are really only so many categories that would be able to sustain any type of lasting participation. Therefore, I'd never worry about them becoming so numerous that they'd clog the GA section or that they'd be able to support an entire section on their own.

That isn't really the idea... Things like Weird Screencap's 2076 posts should be split into a lot of threads, and could be if there was a forum just for screen caps. That way, you could only pull up screen captures you're interested in, and you could go back and find things, too.

Oh, okay, so that's what you had in mind. Still, even overall I don't think there's enough existing content nor potential content to be able to support a stand-alone section.

Well, it would certainly be nice to be able to find screencaps for anime <x> if I was interested (I know I can look elsewhere, but I'm too lazy). Of course, the screencaps thread is also a source of near-endless amusement.

Yeah, I think if screencaps had their own string, people might actually get into gear and post pics up. We could use classic string titles like "most disturbing scenes in anime". I would like to see what pics people have to post for some of these strings.

test it out for a bit, if it doesn't work, axe it quicker than the OT forums.

I say go for it as long you give a limit of how many screencaps each member can post (similar to what Shoujo-Ai Heavens forums does). C'mon, it's really excessive for each person to post over 20 screencaps; it really hurts the 56K users.

Yea, I agree, I think it'd keep things nice and organized if done properly.
