Who gives a damn about that parenting stuff and all. It's easy for me to say, me being 22 but I don't think poeple here in Romania even give a damn about that stuff. I don't think parents really care, and if they were to air some animes i don't even think they would rate it. Anyways, rating susks, i don't even know the criteria they rate movies...

You shouldn't. I thought not being a teen anymore would be special, but other than that pesky '2' at the front of your age number, it hasn't changed stuff too much as yet.

Um, anyway, that's retarded. Granted, I can see why. I keep reading stories about the extent of child porn online, local news keep scaring people about pedophiles and child kidnappers... hysterical conservative-leaning parent types immideately make connections to entertainment, and its' effects on younger age groups.

Taboos here in the west are just that, taboos. Sadly, the mainstream ain't got the guts to go against that no-show policy. Not that it bothers me particularly, but not that I think it's the way I'd deal with it, either

I haven't seen the anime, but if it's like the manga, Mr. Kimura just mostly says he likes high school girls (including Chiyo-chan, who is ten) and demands that the girls wear their P.E. uniforms with their shirts tucked in (the shorts are pretty skimpy for a P.E. uniform). Oh and he hangs around watching the girls swimming, and things like that. Just mostly acts creepy by hanging around them and saying he likes them.

Hmm interesting. Azu Canada style is rated 13+ ... This thread made me check =/

As for the rating, I can see it fitting (the 13+) certain episodes, depending on what view you choose to take, sure 15+. then again it doesn't matter for me since I'm older anyways.

Basically it depends who watches it

It would be more interesting to hear of a cashier/store/vendor that actually bothered to check for ID when buying an anime dvd :!:

My 8-year-old brother was actually watching the 1st DVD of Azumanga Daioh with me (dubbed) when I got it in the mail.

I'm thinking he missed the point that Kimura-sensei was supposed to be creepy and just laughed at how funny he was at times.
