i stuck surrealism between the two eoe vids in the playlist.
i guess maverick and songbird can decide for themselves when in the fullscreen section they want their vids played.
currently the fullscreen section goes:
01 DownWithPants - Tomoe in the Moonlight
02 Chris Nguyen - A Boy I Knew
03 Ooshna - Simplicity
04 Otohiko - Arararat
05 Jasper-Isis - Forbidden Memories

So, the FTP is down again? Curses! Just when I was gonna upload those pictures
For Ararat, I think I'll go for pictures of mountains. I don't think pictures of either Bond or Led Zeppelin would be too great for introducing that vid...

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

i just got all of the wiring done to hook up my server in its new home over my barn (what used to be the woodshop - you can see the 'before' pictures on my bass building page when I get my dns reset). in a couple of minutes i'll be reconfiguring my dns to go to my new ip (the address change everytime i disconnect the cable modem) so the ftp and web server will be back up and running.
pen-pen - i should have your web account set up be the end of the week. i still have to do a little reading on how to configure apache/vsftpd to allow easy self-maintainence for guest accounts, but i've pretty much got it figured out.
the order for the videos is incomplete both because i don't have all of them in their final forms yet, and i haven't fully settled on where to put a few of them. i'm working on it, though.
i'm still not happy with the narrative scene work i've done so far. this is in part due to the fact that, with everything else going on, i haven't had enough time to do it properly. it's also due in part to the fact that i'm continually changing my mind as to what i want it to look like and finding problems with how i thought it could be done. still, i really don't want to be responsible for holding up the release of this project - and am hereby swearing that i will have at least a work-in-progress worthy of posting by the end of the next weekend.
---
in light of the issues i've been having with making room in my schedule to finish this, and the fact that said situation is unlikely to change any time soon, i was wondering if any of you were interested in managing the "around the world in 80 minutes" project. i'm afraid that i'd no longer be able to do it justice. i could still provide the ftp space (with considerably better up-time than before, i should hope), but i really don't think i'd be able to do justice to some of the ideas that had already been posted on that now dying thread.
as to the question of where my free time will be used up now that my portion of the renovation work around here is coming to a close, i'm in the middle of developing a java-based video editing application (using mplayer's native libraries for playback and import/export functionality) using a png-like lossless codec, a set of vector drawing features, convolution and colorspace filters, and an xml-based project definition format that are coming together into a pretty slick and flexible architecture. i'll be posting source as soon as the architecture has solidified (so, probably, sometime around the end of september), and will start releasing preview binaries as the modules of the application's functionality are filled in. i also have this idea for a video using haibane renmei and 'free bird' (yes, the 'play free bird' one that you hear requested by some drunken guy in the audience of virtually every live show that conatins a guitar, though i may try to find a way to work a bit of the haibane 'free bird' in as an intro). it'll be the first amv i make using actual dvds (i finally went out and actually purchased some anime for a change - stuff's expensive, though, so i think i'll stil make use of the digisubs as an indicator of what's actually worth buying), and the first test-case for working with my vidoe app as it comes together, so i'm pretty excited about starting that once i've finished with this. i have a bunch of other ideas as well, but i don't think i'll even try to make those on my own, so stay tuned to the suggestions forum for another thread containing a brain dump of every other possible thematic connection that's crossed my mind in the last couple of months.
oh, and there's that whole bit with work and classes. almost forgot about that.

Does he have your final version yet?
And, curses - I'd take that managing job for the next project, but I'm nailed down by a lack of bandwith, which I guess is a requirement. If anything changes (like, me landing a job) soon, I'll definitely get back to you on it. Right now doesn't look likely though...
