Ok...what the hell is with this? How can there be 88 downloads but only 70 stars? Do people just not give stars!?!? I mean I can kinda understand not giving an opinion (mainly because that actually takes a minor bit of effort), but no star rating? You just have to click a little drop down button, then click a number...I don't get this.

If someone has a logical reasoning behind this please express it.

Yes.

There's also the fact that people don't watch videos immediately after downloading them, and they can't give stars until they do.

Myself, I've still got 5 videos I've downloaded from the Donut and not watched yet; the oldest one I downloaded back in September.

I don't have a single video with an equal download to star ratio. But I don't mind, and I'm the anal type who reverse averages everytime a new star comes in just to see what I got.

i nomral don't give stars for amvs untill i watch the amv at lest 4-5 times.

ALRIGHT!! I admit it. I'm one of the lazy bastards who does not give a star rating, but with good reason. I don't care and neither should you. I don't bother with the ratings on my AMV's because I only put them out there for people to enjoy and to advertise the anime I used with it. Sure it's good to get feedback every once in a while but you shouldn't worry so damn much about it.

The fact is, there'll always be a gap between the number of local downloads and number of star ratings you get. There's a number of possible reasons why this can/does happen, but I honestly don't worry about it enough to sit down and wonder why. I appreciate the feedback as much as any editor, but there are so many people who give star ratings that it more than compensates for those who don't.

Some people download so much that by time they get to rating stars they can't remember which video is which so they just neglect giving stars (I've done this before).

Some people want to download more than 10 vids at a time so they give ratings sight unseen just to download more. At that point it's pretty worthless to care about giving correct ratings to the rest so they sit there unrated till it's time to download more (I've done this before).

Some people figure if they've just left an 800 word op then the star rating is an inferior method of expressing an opinion they've already expressed so hell with it (I've done this before).

Some people have downloaded all of 3 videos so they're never required to give a star rating (my wife has done this).

Some people expect to see a star rating almost as soon as the videos been downloaded and that's just not gonna happen (have you done this?)
