Memory

Post by HeavyMetal » Sat Jul 10, 2004 10:54 pm

Ever notice if your listening to one song its almost impossible to think of the beat to another.

People remember highlights and piece together memory later. If you ask when the two cars hit vs when the two cars smashed together people will give you a much more horrific description.

If we remember every mundane piece of information we would likely go nuts from boredom. (I know I myself don't really care what I ate for breakfast ten years go on an exact date. )

Sensory Memory lasts for about 0.5 sec for visual and 2-4 sec for audio.

Short Term memory only last about 20-30 seconds without rehearsal.

Long Term memory is permanent unless damage takes place.

Everything about memory is not yet known.

Well, with <a href="http://www.aquilinestudios.org/mixes.html">some exceptions</a>. :)

There are other such ideas I've got floating around that I haven't acted on yet -- for example, when I heard Papaya's "Pink Dinosaur", I couldn't stop thinking of Aqua's "Barbie Girl"; and Gloria Estefan's "Conga" and "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" have always sounded way too similar to me.

Yeah I guess it works the other way too, think of one song and then I can't pay attention to the song thats on.

Oh and MC Hammer's song was Rick James' song. He paid to use it. That actually use to be done a lot.
