The Soundtrack AMV project

Post by Songbird21 » Fri Jul 09, 2004 9:41 pm

Hi all,

After just finishing working on my piece for a project run by Rose4emily (Link in sig) I decided I wanted ta try my hand at running my own project.

I hereby dub this: The Soundtrack AMV Project

The idea is to do a grouping of AMVs all done to powerful soundtracks from movies.

RULES/GUIDELINES:

1. You can't just post and count yourself as a creator for the project. Anyone who wants to join up must post a link to a video he or she feels is an example of their best work. I will decide if their video editing skills (And/or style) are what I'm looking for. I will post here if you make it in. If you don't, please don't take it personally. And I hope no one thinks I'm a jerk or something. I just want this project to be the best it can be.

2. All videos must be coded in MPEG1. This is a format that is easily transferable to a VCD. Please don't encode in MPEG2. The files are too big. My little comp would cough up blood.

3. Subtitles are an absolute no no.

4. Final screen resoloution should be 720 X 480 or 352 X 240.

5. Final frame rate should be 29.97 frames per second.

6. Final audio encode should be at 192 bytes per second or higher and must be stereo.

7. Here is a list of the soundtracks I want to use for this project. If you know of a soundtrack that is really excellant that I haven't listed please post your idea and I will listen to a copy of the track you suggest. (This involves the music being sent to me via AIM, ICQ or YM. If you don't have one of these programs PM me and we'll set something up, unless I happen to have the movie you suggest. In that case you're all set.) I can provide an MP3 of a song if someone really wants to do something on this list, but doesn't have the soundtrack or DVD. Anyway, here's the currently approved soundtracks:
  • Jurrasic Park
    Harry Potter
    Lord Of The Rings
    Dragon Heart
    Peter Pan (The 2003 release)
    Titan A.E
    The Secret of Nimh
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to post them.

Thanks,
Songbird21

Well...in terms of action-stuff, haven't exactly got much available to offer as proof...but still...got an idea been toying with that might fit into this concept
Right now this is the closest to any sort of action footage I have online (...unfortunately, being an older vid, the coding's not up to snuff...nevertheless, final call is yours)

Okay. I think I need to clarify something. By 'powerful' I didn't mean only action. I just mean music that makes people feel energized. When I say power I mean a music piece that just screams with emotion, whether it be sadness, joy, the adreniline of battle...any very strong emotion.

Like any time I listen to certain tracks from the Peter Pan movie I can't help but feel overwhelmed with joy. (Keep in mind I'm an emotional person too. Lol)

Yeah, sorry about that, just meant that in the regard that most of the stuff I have to offer online ATM is humorous videos (...actually, here's one that might also work as a tester:

Anyways...once again, your call

hmm this project starts at a bad time, I'm not sure I can do anything for this yet. I'm also being asked to another multi editor project so....

If anything changes I'll hit you up on Aim.

You already have proof of my ability, so
