Yep. Preregged all 3 days and planned the trip long in advanced. Especially since AR is showing there, and it'll be my first time seeing one of my vid on the big screen. (assuming it got pass prescreening). Will be there with my bro and cousin.

And DWP nice job on the website. Perhaps you should consult Rose4Emily on transfering that one to the main official website for the project, since it has alot more relevant information pertaining to the project than the current one does.

i'd have no problem with putting up an updated info page

the server's almost done. actually, the server itself is completely done - but i still have to configure a bunch of other apps and my dns and so forth, so i've been rebooting too often for it to be work my posting the ip before i've got the actual domain connected.

i'd also, by the way, have no problem with offering hosting (and quite a bit of it, in terms of disk space) to any of you if you're interested. i've got 160 gb to work with, so there'll be room for everyone at 'the wired'.

as sick as i am of apologizing for my schedule, i think i'll throw one more in - sorry about dragging everything out here. i've got a lot of work left on my end, but i assure you that it is slowly but surely nearing completion.

it seems the dns junk won't be working for a couple days (internet registry rules and practices and so forth), but i've got the server up now, so i'll just post the login:

ftp://24.61.181.203
user: instrumentality
pass: firstchildren

i haven't moved the archive of videos i already have into the 'outbox' yet, but you can start putting anything new into the 'inbox' and i'll sort it all together into a usable 'outbox' sometime this afternoon/evening.

i also have to set up my web directory and get to work on animating the narrative visual, so i'll be kinda busy.

feel free to post if you have any questions or trouble getting in.

if the video has been completed, and the huffman fits the resolution and frame-rate constraints, then put up the huffman.

otherwise it can wait until those three conditions are met.

Maverick: i also think your monologue is too long. the first paragraph and a few parts of the second paragraph seem least relevant (it'd fit in a vid description, but not really a monologue). the monologue should focus on aspects of the video itself, not the process of how you made it. but otherwise it looks good.

rose4emily: if you want to add a link to my animasia page from your website, that'd work well.

everyone: page has been fixed and updated. also i'll be comin down to otakon. my first time there and my first time at a major con so i dun really know what to expect, who's where or what's when. oh well, but i hope we see each other, maybe arrange a meeting in advance?

the files of questionable ownership - are they, perhaps, all the .**** files? those are just system files that have to sit there in the home directories if i extend them to do anything else (like putting in a web folder or something). as far as i can see on my own computer, no one has actually put anything in the inbox yet, and the outbox is just a mirror of what was up right before my ftp went down. the '.' is actually a marker to say the file is hidden, but it seems a lot of ftp clients don't really care about that. these system files are all, however, set with permissions such that only i can read or edit them (at least as far as i know and have tested).

by the way: the dns kicked in, and you can now go to ftp://www.thewired.info instead of having to remember the ip. i also moved my web content to http://www.thewired.info, but haven't checked everything yet for permissions and so forth, and haven't added the updated guidelines page.

now i've got to go update all my video links on this site to point to the amv page on the new server.

once again - free hosting anyone? i can offer private ftp access to your files, with individually assigned passwords, and plenty of disk space (especially for primarily text-based sites), assigning your accounts to http://www.thewired.info/~username/. i'm not yet set up for any server-side scripting or the like, but that sort of functionality isn't available through most other hosts, either. if you're interested, send me an e-mail.

oh, and jasper - i like your new site layout, clean and to-the-point. you definately have an eye for stylish simplicity.
