Alternative way into VOB files

Well heres is the prob, iv just ripped my DVD and i have my VOB files but im having trouble converting them to avi, im using the DVD2AVI program buts its not working well for me so i would like to know of an alternative program that does the same or better.

Oh incase this helps, the exact problem with the DVD2AVI is that when i convert to avi i get sound but i get no image.

You should not use DVD2AVI to make AVI files.

Sounds crazy, but it's true.
