Very well then!

Post by MikaelJuha » Fri Jun 25, 2004 11:47 pm

No longer are the meaningless thoughts of meaningless meaning driving and stabbing my mind into a bitter small despair of perplexity.

Because as long as there is a strong definition of anime integrated within the vid, I can use doom 3 footage with the vid by the looks of it.

and Kapeesh! 8)

your intelligence astounds me! using my own word...ohhh the height of intelligence really........

and besides i'd have thought that the site's name would have answered your first question immedeately anyway animemusicvideos.org

tell me if i'm wrong but doesn't that kind of not include games? (and don't argue the final fantasy case, it's already been well established that final fantasy FMVs are in an anime style, and thus: useable

If you see games and anime in history...

Post by MikaelJuha » Sat Jun 26, 2004 12:03 am

Goku from the dragonball series has been in more video games than any known video game character knwon to video games with over 3 to 4 dozen games with him in them.

Now If a famous anime character is in more videogames than any video game, you'd think there is a very strong tie with video games and anime.

And if that is not obvious, I have no way to continue arguing with you

Hey guys..go back through this guys posts, and as you read through, imagine him as a black televangelist, it's quite funny...

Anywho as the rules state, the videos must be 80% anime. You can also use original animation made by you.

As for halo videos, if there are halo videos on the org, it isn't hosted on the Donut, if you find videos like Halo, Doom 3, Metroid Prime ( and anything else that is not anime/original animation/and anime styled cut scenes from a game) being hosted on LOCAL, then I'd suggest you report them to the mod box.

This community is open to many NEW ideas, however this site must remain within the limits of it's original purpose and that is to catalog ANIME music videos. There is no chance that the site will change from that purpose. If you want you can go branch out and start a Game Music Video site, feel free to do so, no one will stop you and most should encourage you.

Just keep in mind that we walk on a thin line of legality with this site. Bringing too many other mediums into the site would grab more attention than we need from more than just the anime and music industries, and one of them might be swayed to start a lawsuit (though the anime companies don't really mind us, and in fact think of us as free advertisment o.O). We don't need the gaming industry and even the film industry (dispite the number of life action videos present on this site, though not hosted by it) on our backs for any reason, though I don't think I've ever heard of Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo ever throwing shit in the fan about people making mini movies out of their games.

So please stop carrying on about Doom 3 videos, it's spamming and off topic (and if you're not aware of this site's history, there was once an off topic forum...but that has sence been removed due to complicated..and not so complicated reasons).

but that's from anime -> video games
not video games -> AMV community
besides, no-one has made a video from the DB/DBZ/DBGT games have they?....no

i can see that there's a strong link but this is the exception to the rule: generally anime doesn't get made into games

only major series like DBZ, gundam wing, and yu yu hakusho get made into games

and that's only because nasty companies like bandai and atari see a major marketing opportunity with those series.

But this is all besides the point anyhow because, as i've already said, those are the wrong kinds of cross over

Its more complicated than it looks...

Post by MikaelJuha » Sat Jun 26, 2004 12:32 am

Jebedia, that was straight foward and understandable.
I will send stuff to the mod box as you suggested, if this suggestion was "spamming" as you said and was off topic, I'm sorry if it was, I'm rather new to this site, quite obvious if you think about it, but it was just an ideal that brought some light to the table that I thought some other people would like.

And to further close this, if it is to be closed...
A doom vid, if you may call it one, will have more anime to ratio to the doom footage; if you recall the 80% anime rule, and 20% other.

So if I were to even make a doom 3 vid, it wouldn't be a doom 3 vid; given the strict anime to other ratio.

Which is fine with me, considering this site is a strict anime-based-hardcore-bitchin cool site.

But wow, I never thought it to be so strict, anyhow, I'm not guna really reply to this thread since it has been considered greatly to be a spam-ordeal and not really anime-based.

It was interesting nonetheless, I guess I will have to look on the brighter side of things and make something else...maybe with 20% doom in it

This site is for anime music videos, despite the goodness of Doom. It is stated in the rules anyways so stop your incessant bantering.
Actually umm...its ANIMEMUSICVIDEOS.ORG :P ;D

Yeah, umm Mikael I like your arguements and everything and I do agree with you that the genre's of videos that you can make here is very limited but its just the way it goes, the people who run this place will never change that. *shrug*

i'd just like to point out that doom3 is not a game. its a tech demo for a game engine (its mainly comprised of a 3d renderer and a physics engine) which id are so exited about and eager to sell of that they thought it'd be a good idea to make this tech demo a bit interactive, wrap it up in a box and sell it, pretending that thier doing something as revolutionary as they did back 10 years ago. then magazines and gaming sites rush of to interview someone from id about this new tech demo and the person they interview spends about 70% of the conversation pimping how great john carmack is. then id sell their engine left, right and center, makes a shitload of money, everyone buys the tech demo, pc journo's write a 6 page review on it, spending 1 page on id's history and 5 pages on how dietailed the realtime lights and shadow's are, gamers buy it, 4 hours later they finish it, then they run back to EB and demand that their money be returned on the basis that they thought they we're buying a game, not a fucking tech demo.

ah sory for the double post, i just actualy bothered reading any part of this thread now and saw this.

first off, if you have a sujestion, we have a whole forum dedicated to that. secondly, you dont go to E3. E3 isnt open to anyone that isnt working with a game developer/publisher or a gameing journalist. its an invitation only thing, and considering everything you've posted that ive read, theirs now ay in hell your in any part of the games industry. and finaly, like everyone els has allready said, this site is about anime, not games. we dont even have off-topic/general threads for that mater. why ? because thier meaningless here. it would be like learning algaebra in an english class. in other words, its stupid
