dont even go there...

though cosplayers have the advantage of not having to find Anime rips and sources...
They would just have to act the scenes they want themselves...

My long ass review post

Deal with it.
Jesus, I can't believe I have to do this. Maybe I don't... Nah...

I don't have any problem with cosplayers. It would be so much more boring at cons without them, and they really add to the atmosphere. I can't cosplay my self, because there are no overweight anime characters who don't like to play dress up. ...Or something like that. It just seemed like there could be some funny ideas that could come out of the topic.
sarahtheboring wrote: Exactly. But people would rather prop up their flimsy self-esteem with stupid lists about how their nerdass hobby makes them better than everybody else.

morons.
I think it's pretty obvious that it was ment to be silly. I forget how angry this forum can be though, so it's understandable that you might think I have some great plan to attack that big cosplay site after manufacturing up some anger between the two groups. Then biding my time as two forums bubble with animosity, position my self as the leader of AMV Fan Alliance Guard (AFAG). We will pick a battle ground, and I will command my amv brethren into holy war, throwing cd ninja stars, and strangling the vial cosplayers with our keyboard wires. Of course, we will be killed by the tens of hundreds, because our feeble blunt weapons of war will be no match for the "giant ass Guts sword" or "pointy magical wand" all cosplayers seem to keep with them at all times. Finding the right moment in the chaos, I will dawn the costume of Jabba the Hut, and infatuate the cosplay ranks, and slowly influence their leaders into abandoning Japan all together for American comics, striping Japan of it's most promising export. Thus, the island nation will fall, and I will have avenged my grandfather who they tortured during WWII.

...What?

Ok ok, you did not say anything that made me think you thought this (@_@) but it took too much work to write so I'm keeping it. :) Anyway, to paraphrase, I thought it would be fun. It's cool if you dress up, I thank you for making my convention experience more enjoyable. Even man faye gives me something to talk about.

Besides, we can all agree we are better than fanfic writers.

...No, no I haven't. Sounds like I need too though.

First of all, the irony does not escape me. A hardy LoL there. Second, this is a top 100 thread, no mater what that bastard title tells you... Um, that is, according to the first post. ...I'm not helping my self, am I?

To Scintilla: you actually look pretty good there cheap or not.

Ok, I tire of this.

17. Amv people are LESS likely compare them self's to pickchu.
18. It's been proven that amv people are more likely to know how to use editing software.
19. Two Words: Lens Flare

Cosplay's not that bad most of the time. I've done Master Yupa well, in fact I got second place out of about 30 for it. My friend's done Gendo and Kenshin. And large people can cosplay as Quina from FF9 without looking out of place. (I saw one at fanime). What's hard is finding people with glasses that are fairly unique looking.

For every bad cosplayer out there, theres quite a few decent or good ones, so I think they're a good thing in general.

That said:

20. Not having to find characters you look good as.
21. You don't sweat off 5 pounds under the 4 layers of heavy clothing needed for the costume.
22. AMV's take a lot less room in your luggage than costumes, and are much easier to get through airport security.
The sword, it thirsts to drink of man,
The sword at last must win,
Today is gone, and yesterday,
Must echo in the wind.
